Sunny's debut show in Japan / サニー、日本のショーにデビュー

11月26日にわれわれと一緒に無事に日本に到着したサニー。

あれから2週間。
あっと言う間にわが家のメンバーに加わり、昨日、今日とTICA & ACTのキャットショーに参加しました。
車での移動にも強く、声を出すことも無く道中爆睡していたようです。

日本で行われているショーに初めて参加。
日本語と、髪の毛の黒い人達いっぱいの会場に初日は多少驚いてもいたようです。

Aka Sunny (Pajocoons Sunrise Dream of Popokilani) made his debut to the TICA Asia Show this weekend.
He has just arrived to Japan on 26th of Nov. with us.
2 weeks has past and now he is becoming our member.
He had no problem with 4 wheels, was sleeping a lot during the move.

I think everything he saw was a surprise, black haired people, different language, different cars... etc.

でも、審査台の上ではシッポを高々とあげ堂々としていました。

場の雰囲気にもすぐ慣れてくれたなれてくれたようで、まずまずのデビュー。

On the judging table he looked confident.

His tail was high above and within very short time he got used to the atmosphere.

「遊ぶのが大好き」と聞いてはいたのですが、猫じゃらしを見つめる目は真剣そのもの。

遊ぶはずが、狩りの本能に火がついて、ジャッジの振る猫じゃらしを何本か壊してしまいました。

"Sunny love to play" was what we heard and it was true.

His eyes were locked on to the teaser and once it was swung he suddenly turned to a hunter and has destroyed some.

決して大柄ではないのですが、写真でみると独特の雰囲気があり動きの一瞬一瞬を楽しんで眺めることができました。
手足の動きも活発で、中々の瞬発力。

He is not a huge boy but has something (his big brother calls it "x-factor") and watching his photos I see him larger than what he really is.
And his hands and legs moves very fast to catch the teaser.

コートの明るい茶色の部分がPajocoonsの特徴のひとつ。
しっかり受け継いでいます。

His coat has warm brown color and this is one of the Pajocoons character he has received.

 サニーのことで一番驚かされたのは、実はその“食欲”。
この写真は2日目の会場での彼の食事風景なのですが、実に良く食べる。
「控えケージの外に居るのが好き」というのも聞いていたのですが、外に出て椅子の上で尽きぬ食欲に身を任せていました。
今日ショー会場で食べたレトルトささみは150g×3袋とロイヤルカナンのカリカリ小皿一杯！
わが家からショーに参加して、これだけ食べた子は未だかつていません！
雰囲気に圧倒されて、食欲ゼロと言う子はいたけれど・・・

自分のパターンをしっかり確立しているからでしょうか？

The most surprising thing about him was his "apetite".
This pic above is his meal scene of the second day at the show hall.
"He likes to be outside of the shelter" was also the thing we heard when we were in Belgium but addition to that he liked eating this way.
There he ate 3 x 150g packs of boiled chicken breast and small dish full of dry food!
He is the very catin our cattery who has " Saint Stomach" !

Is this because he has always have his own pattern ?

ショーの結果としては、16リングに参加してファイナルは1本。
TGCまでのタイトルは本国ベルギーで獲得しているので、今回のショーでQGCのタイトルは確定しました。

Show result was... he only got one final out of 16.
He already claimed TICA TGC while he was in Belgium so now he won QGC today.
I think he had enough finals and only needed some points. Now this is cleared.

しばらくショーには参加して行く予定ですが、一匹と二人で居る時間を大事にしていくための参加にしたいと思います。
家の中だと大勢の仲間が居て、サニーのことだけを見る時間が少ないのが現状。
われわれがまだまだ知らない部分をきっといっぱい持っているサニー。

一回ごとのショーがきっと毎回新しい発見をもたらしてくれると思います。

わが家のアインやアルフォンスとはすでに仲良くなり、アルター組ともいい関係を築いている今、今度は人間とのさらなる深い結び付きを築く時。

サニー、日本にようこそ！
これからも、よろしく！

We are planing to show him more but it is not for to get more hire position for the show result.
The main purpose to take him to the show is to have more private time with him.
In our place, their are many others and we feel like we do not have so much to be with only him.
We believe and think there are lots of more to know him and him also.

Every show may be lead us to know "another part" of him.

He is already close to Einstein and Alphonse. And developing a good relationship with the alters too. So now it is time to develop more strong relationship with us humans.

Sunny, again welcome to Japan!

そして、サニーより一足先に来日してくれたアイン。
アインの一番の友達になり、またサニーを仲間として認めてくれたアルフォンス。
アルター組の面々も、いつものことながらありがとう。

わが家の猫社会の輪が良い形で保たれているのは皆のおかげ。
感謝、感謝。

And thank you to Ein for welcoming him.
Also to Alphonse becoming the very close friend of Ein and Sunny.
Thank to the alter members.

The cat society is in a good mood as always.

New Babies! / 子猫達産まれています！

待望のアインシュタインとシンディの子供達4匹が10月28日に無事に誕生しました。

全員元気に育っています。

レッドクラシックタビーの男の子2匹、ブラウンクラシック・トービーの女の子が2匹です。

男の子と女の子各一匹づつは、今日現在で既に700gを超えました。

一回目の予防接種は12月末の予定なので、見学は年明けからとなります。

まだ成長を見ている状態なので、個別の写真は後日掲載させていただきますが、ご興味のある方からのご連絡は随時受け付けさせていただきます。

尚、今回の子供達はブリードでのお渡しはいたしません。

4 kittens were born on Oct. 28th, 2012.
Their proud parents asre, Cascade Mtn. Einstein and Popokilani Cynthia.

2 Red Classic Tabbie boys and 2 Brown Classic Torbies.

They are growing very well and 1 boy and 1 girl are today over 700g.

Their 1st injection is to be planned on end of Dec.
Showing can be able from beginning of next year.

Their status are "on hold" for we are still watching their growth.

Note: All the kittens are not for "Breeding" but showing is available.  

Ein Meets Sunny! / アイン、サニーとご対面！

 今年5月に来日したアインシュタイン。

わが家のシンディのお婿さんとなり10月末に無事に4児の父親となりました。
お迎えに行ってから早いもので、もう半年。　すっかりわが家にも馴染んだところに・・・　サニー登場。

サニーがわが家に到着したのが、11月26日。　まだ5日ほど経過したところですが、この両者本日無事にご対面とあいなりました。

サニーは到着してから男子部室で寝泊り。　アインはドアを一枚隔てた隣の部屋で今では盟友となったアルフォンスと相部屋状態で生活していました。

男子部室で寝泊りしていたサニー、お迎え前の計画では猫は彼だけの予定でしたが、部屋の主と化したエミリーが退室せず期せずして初日から相部屋。　双方嫌がるかと思いきや、お互い無関心が幸でして狭い部屋の中で見事に共存共栄。

夜は、私が毛布を持参で3日間ほど床に直接寝起きしていました。

馴れてくれるまでに時間がかかるかと思いきや、サニーもアイン同様順応力が高く、水曜日の朝には男子部室からするりと抜け出し早々リビング・デビュー。

あわてて女子組を男子部室に収容（われわれの寝室は現在シンディが育児室として利用しているために使用不可！）。リビングで好きに過ごしている去勢避妊組みがまずサニーとご対面となりました。

サニー、わが家の子達と似た顔立ちをしているためか、寛いでいた他の子達は彼が新入りだということに気付くのが大分遅れました。　
15分ほど経ってから、匂いが違うことに気づいたのか、数匹が“シャー“を連発。　
ただ、幸いにもその状態も長続きはせず、何となく自分の場所を確保できたようです。

一日空けた今日、やっと体制を整えアインシュタインとアルフォンスを第二男子部室から開放。

いよいよ「アインとサニーのご対面！」となりました。　

アインは力強い顔立ちに似合わず、非常に優しい性格をしている子です。　自分から喧嘩を売ったり、自分の存在を必要以上に誇示したりするタイプではありません。　いい意味で自分に自信があるようで、リビングでサニーと会っても問題なし。　対するサニー、こちらも自分をしっかり持っているようで体の非常に大きいアインに驚きはしたようですが、自分に対して敵意がないとわかるや否や、その存在をしっかり受け入れてくれたようです。　ちなみにアインは誰かが自分の前で走り始めると狩猟猫の本領が蘇ってしまうようで、そうなると大運動会が始まってしまいます。

遠路はるばる遠い国から来てくれたアインとサニー。

二匹とも母国語が違うので、この先どんなコミュニケーションを取るのかはわかりませんが、いい関係を作ってくれそうです。

新しい子を子猫のうちに迎えることには、その子の成長過程を見る楽しみがありますが、一歳前後の大人猫が新しくメンバーになるのもまた楽しいものがあります。　ほぼ出来上がった性格や考え方で、どういう形で未知の世界に対応していくのか・・・　猫にとっても人間にとっても不安な材料はいっぱいありますが、アインとサニー名（迷）コンビが誕生する気がします。
一人ぼっちでわが家に来てくれたアインを受け入れて、今や盟友とまでなったアルフォンス。　アルフォンスにしっかりと心を開いてくれたアイン。　アインの中にはいろいろな思いが交錯したと思います。　そんな経験をして更に懐が深くなったアインならばサニーをしっかり受け入れてくれると思います。

アイン・ミーツ・サニー！　サニー・ミーツ・アイン！

こんな素晴らしい二匹を迎えることができて本当に良かったと思います。　長い間彼らを見守り、育て、送り出してくださったアメリカとベルギーの両ブリーダーにあらためてお礼を申し上げます。

猫の世界でも、先人の知恵は先輩から後輩に伝え、受け継がれるもののようです。
われわれも猫達から教えてもらうことが多いと感じる今日この頃ですｗ


Already 6 months has past since we welcomed Einstein from US.

On this Monday, with the 6 days absence of the humans, he and his pal Alphonse were move to a small room in a sudden.
5 days has passed since then and today Ein and Al knew the reason why they were moved from the boys room!

Yes, finally Ein met Sunny today!

Sunny moved to our house on 25th from his own country Belgium.
So only 5days has past.
Our idea was to let him in the boy's room for about a week and then let him meet the alters first.
Our Spayed girl Emily, who rules the boy's room did not move from the room so Sunny had to share the room with her. I was anxious to introduce Emily to him form the very first day but they ignored each other and nothing bad happend.
To build a relationship with him, I slept on the floor for 3 nights.

Sunny, who has his own style like Ein quickly became use to me and from the second night started to sleep near me.

On Wednesday morning Sunny easily escaped from the  room and went down stairs!
As his face looks like some of our cats, the girls enjoining their freedom at the living room did not notice that the "new boy" came downstairs!
About 15 minuets later, someone figured out that there is unusual smell and started to hiss. Luckily small panic did't last long.

And on the 4th day morning we finally introduced Ein and Alphonse to Sunny.

"Ein met Sunny!"

Ein is a really mature boy and never start fighting from his side unless someone starts to run infront of him.  If someone does, he becomes a hunter but basically　is a pacifist . Also seem to have confidence in himself so we were not anxious of him meeting Sunny. Sunny also has his style and finally they met.

Sunny hissed a bit but nothing more.
Their mother tongue are different but maybe Ein understands that Sunny is tracking the same way as he did 6 months ago.

It is nice to welcome a kitten from other place.
And more the less it is nice to have a "cat" who has already developed his/her character.
Sometimes there may be plenty of things to worry and consider about.
But also a big joy to see them get used to the new circumstances by their own wisdom.
We are sure that Ein and Sunny to become a good friend to each other in near days.

Alphonse was the very one who welcomed Einstein as his pal. Now Ein seems to let in Sunny. From elders to the younger, younger to the youngest one...

There are still so many things to learn from cats...

Pajocoons Sunrise Dream now in Japan! / サニー君無事到着！

本日、サニー君と一緒にベルギーより無事に帰国しました！

4泊6日の旅が短かったのか、長かったのかは実際にはよくわかりません。
ただ、アインシュタインをアメリカに迎えに行った時と同じで、素晴らしい時間を過ごしました。

サニーの両親猫に会い、彼の兄弟や親族一同にも触れることができたのは一生の思い出です。
今年は人生で一番多い回数旅行に出ましたが、どの旅も素晴らしいものでした。

他のブリーダーさんから猫を渡していただくことの重さは、5月のアインシュタインにしても、今回のサニーにしても、本当に厳かな思いを感じさせてくれます。
これは、日本のブリーダーさんからの場合もまったく同じなのですが、海外となると中々顔を合わせるチャンスがない分よけいに感じることなのかもしれません。

アインシュタインとサニー。
今年この二匹の男の子を迎え入れたことにより、わが家のこれからの流れも大きくかわるのではないかと思います。

アインシュタインは、今年の10月末にシンディとの間に子供を設けサニーより一足早く4匹の子供達の父となりました。
新しく産まれた女の子達も、血統の全く重ならないサニーのお嫁さんになることができます。
いろいろ将来に広がりを感じることができるようになりましたが、とりあえずはサニーが1日も早くわが家で自分のお気に入りの場所を見つけてくれるようになればと思います。

Pajocoonsのサニーを1年間の長きにわたり育てて下さったWim & Marie-Jean Straetmansご夫妻、サニーの兄のTEALC達の現在の親であるVeerle VandenabeeleとPatrick L'Hoirには限りない感謝の念でいっぱいです。

サニーを迎えるまで3年の月日が流れました。
この3年の変わらぬ思いは、また日をあらためて書くつもりです。

とりあえずは、サニー無事到着のお知らせです。

この日が来るまで、いろいろな形で応援して下さった皆様、本当にありがとうございました。

Sunny today arrived to his new house with us!

4 days and 6 nights trip to Belgium... sounds short but also was long enough to think about lots of things as a breeder and a cat lover.

To have another kitten/cat from the different cattery is always a tough thing.
When it happens from overseas, it become more tough may be because you do not have so much chance to meet the breeders so often.Meeting Wim and Marie-Jean of Pajocoons and Tealc's human parents Veerle Vandenabeele and Patrick L'Hoir were the big opportunity for us.
Was another big opportunity as meeting Cascade Mtn. and Chemicoons.

Now we have 2 beautiful, young and healthy boys from two great cattery, which we adore very much.
With this great boys, Sunny and Einstein, Popokilani has a great opportunity to expand as a Maine Coon cattery.

End of this October, Einstein became a father of 4 beautiful kittens.
One of the girls can be mated to Sunny in the future.
And we also have Kappa and Reebok and some other girs too.
To have a different line boys means a lot to us.

We would like to thank Pajoccons for holding Sunny for more than a year.
Without their understanding and help this never happend.
And another thanks to Tealc's human parents. They always encouraged us "Never to give up" having Sunny.

3 years has passed since I first knew Pajocoons and Tealc.
There are lots of things that I would like to write but for today I would just like to send out the message that Sunny has arrived to Japan safe and sound!

Many thanks to all who were crossing their paws and fingers for us for this day to happen!!

Cattery POPOKILANI

aka Kappa is now QGC! / カッパQGCのタイトル取得！

10月のショーを最後に引退したカッパ嬢(本名ケリー)。

TGCのタイトルまで取得したのは確実でしたがQGCには点数がちょっと足りないかも知れない・・・　まあ、それならそれで・・・と思っていましたが、今日TICAのサイトを何気なく見たら、カッパ嬢めでたくQGCのタイトルを獲得していました。

素直で、穏やかなカッパが一緒にショーに参加して得たタイトル。
いつもとはまた違ったうれしさがあります。

おめでとう、カッパ！


POPOKILANI Kelly aka Kappa won the title of TICA QGC!

She seemed to be a real "Show Girl" but retired the show this Oct.
I was sure of her being TICA TGC but about QGC... May be she still needs few points to become so.

Today I was checking the TICA web site and found out that she has reached QGC.

Congrats Kappa!
You did very well.
I had a great time with you, many thanks to you!

On 21st of Nov. we are leaving to Belgium.
The very first trip for us to visit Europe.
Gonna meet Tealc and his entire family too!
Looking forward to meet another love of mine!

いよいよ、21日に通称“サニー”君をベルギーに迎えに行って来ます。
ヨーロッパへの初めての旅行！
わたしをサニーに結びつけてくれたTealc一家にもやっと会えます！
思い出深いものになると思います。
