TICA 2013-2014 IW SGC Popokilani Albert

Popokilani Albert is now: 

• TICA 2013-2014 IW SGC LH 24th Best Cat
• IW 2nd Best Red Classic Tabby Maine Coon

• TICA 2013-2014 RW SGC AB 4th Best Cat
• TICA 2013-2014 RW SGC LH 4th BestCat
• TICA 2013-2014 RW SGC 2nd Best Red Classic Tabby MC

TICA 2013-2014 was really a tough year for us and also for Albert (aka Akatus).

Albert’s champion debut was in July.  He attended 2 shows in July and took quite long off.  We restarted showing him form mid of October. From then our long journey started.
He attended totally 19 TICA Shows. T he unusual thing for us was we went to the Shows out of Tokyo area many times.
He flew to Fukuoka 2 times, about a couple of hour flight from Tokyo, Hiroshima and also Nagoya.  And the most far trip he had was to attend the Jan. 2014 Show held in Portland.

Our first idea for him was to earn SGC title.  Was thinking that will be enough for this year.
The Idea of attending the oversea show was what we were always dreaming of. How a Maine Coon from Japan would be? Just wanted to participate the show we are not familiar with.
As Portland was the very place I know, I myself enjoyed revisiting their.

Their, he had a very good result and it made us decide to show him till the year end.

But attending so many shows was not the reason why we are still feeling tired.
4 red MC’s were shown at the same year in Japan!  It is really unusual, as long as I know, to see 4 reds at the show.  They were all tough competitor. 3 of 4 including Albert were attending the show in Tokyo area.  And for him to get in to “Top 3” was really difficult. So we decided to take him to the show where there is no “Red” MC. But there was another great “Red” MC at the shows out of Tokyo.   Yes, the keyword for last year was "Red"!  

During the show season, Albert became father. 

This was the also unusual thing we did.

In the past,  we never mated a show cat during the show season.  Doing an unusual thing was another challenge for us.

If he looses interest towards the show, well he actually was unhappy around from April, was the big concern.

But we couldn't leave our girl to wait for so long...

I was telling him again and again that from May he is going to be free from the shampoo & Show.

I think he was feeling like the show is endless.

Even telling hims so, I too was feeling there is no end! LOL

Any way Albert is now free from everything.

Just enjoying his usual life.

I am sure he has no idea that he earned many titles.

And  of course never cares about it.

早いもので2013年-2014年度のキャットショーも無事に終わり、既に新年度が始まりました。

2012年から2013年の間に生まれた子供達と、いっぱいの思い出をショー会場で作った一年でした。

そんな昨年度のショーの結果もいよいよ発表されました。

あかたすは、RW（リージョナル・ウィンナー：アジア地域）となりました。　
AB（オールブリード/全猫種）の4位に入賞、長毛/短毛別部門でも4位。
猫種別ではメインクーンの第2位。
メインクーンのカラー別でも2位となりました。

それだけではなく、わが家から初めてのインターナショナル・ウィナーにもなりました。
インターナショナル・ウィナーとは、世界中のTICA所属の猫達から全猫種のトップ25位に入った猫達になります。
成猫部門では、この他に、長毛/短毛別部門がありそれぞれのトップ25頭が表彰の対象となります。

ありがたいことに、あかたすはこの成猫の長毛部門に入賞することができました。
24位という成績で。　うれしくもあり、またあかたすには申し訳ない気もするのが正直なところです。
人間も指を数えて、後何回ショーがあるかと数えていたくらいですから、遠い未来を想定などすることなどないあかたすには
果てしなく長い時間の繰り返しだったと思います。

昨年10月から本格的にショーに参加。　7ヶ月フルに走り通しでした。
猫の一生が人間の7分の1ぐらいだとしたら、7ヶ月は彼にとっては50ヶ月近い月日だったことになるのでしょうか？
人間で言えば大学生活の4年に相当するぐらいの長さだったのかと・・・
文句も言わず、付き合ってくれたことに感謝しかありません。

祖父のエドワード、母のシンディ、息子のあかたすと3第続いてのRWへの入賞。
「いつかわが家の誰かがIWになることがあれば」そんなことも夢想しておりましたが、その夢も現実となりました。


今回の結果も、あかたすに負うところばかりです。
また、彼が生まれるにいたった先祖の猫達、その猫達を支えてきたブリーダーの方達のおかげです。
われわれは、あかたすが楽しく、機嫌よくショーに参加できるように手伝っただけです。
彼の天性の穏やかさ、物怖じしない度胸、乗り物酔いしない強さ・・・　色々な物がうまくかみ合って得た結果です。

この場を借りて、あらためてあかたすを応援してくださった方達、可愛がってくださった方々、いろいろな出会いを与えてくださった皆様にお礼申し上げます。


本当にありがとうございました。

4月27日のショーが終わって、あかたすは自由に暮らしています。
もうすぐ、自分の子供達とも対面の予定です。

これからも、あかたすが早く7ヶ月のショー生活を忘れられるように、毎日楽しく暮らしていくつもりです。
