ヴェルダンディの名前の由来は、北欧神話の三姉妹の女神様から。
「ノルニル（北欧神話に登場する運命の女神達）のうち、現在を司る女神。
彼女たちはそれぞれウルド（運命という意味、または過去）、ベルダンディー（現在）、スクルド（未来）と呼ばれている。
ベルダンディーは三姉妹の次女で最も母性的性格で、同時に高貴なる者と呼ばれ繁栄、維持、存在を表し、月の諸相を支配する。」（世界神話辞典より）
写真は、ヴェルの姉と妹・・・ではなく、写真家の山崎哲氏が撮ったヴェルの写真を氏自身が写真の変化の面白さをわれわれに説明してくださる際に加工したもの。

Verdandi: Her name originally comes from the Old Norse Verðandi meaning "necessity".
Verdandi was one of the three Norns, or goddesses of destiny, in Norse mythology. She was responsible for the present.

She is the only girl in her litter.
